Which suburb do you call home?
Mermaid Beach
What makes that suburb the best on the GC?
Mermaid is so central to everything my life is based around! Kurrawa Surf Club is just down the road, Pacific Fair is a two-minute car trip, and there’s coffee shops and restaurants every 100m. I’m just a short drive away from the endless options of beaches for whatever the surf conditions are. Most of all it’s the neighbours and friendly faces I see every day that make Mermaid Beach the best on the GC.
Fave place to stop, relax for 20 mins and enjoy a morning cuppa? And what treat is on the plate beside your hot bevvie?
Ocean 4218 in Mermaid Beach. They are all about saving the ocean, one coffee at a time. They have delicious healthy and well-priced options all day long. I can’t go past their acai smoothie with a chocolate almond protein ball.
Fave Gold Coast casual dining location? What’s on the menu?
Poke Poke would have to be my favourite casual dining location. It’s just down the road from my house and the food is always fresh and delicious I love the Feelin Clucky or Squidilicous.
You’re planning a fun, local night out with your mates? Which three locations top your list and why?
- Miami Marketta, there’s never ending choices of food, dessert and drinks.
- Aloha in Broadbeach, is something a little different and they have delicious cocktails.
- Justin Lane: a drink and a fresh pizza with awesome DJs on a rooftop in Burleigh is always a good option.
Best local spot for family hangs and why?
‘The Dudley Deck’ is my family’s go to. Take your pick at any one of the timber decks along Hedges avenue, you can’t go past a nice drink and a game of beach cricket as the sun sets.
Fave Gold Coast shopping destination?
Pacific Fair, everything in the one stop with plenty of parking.
