WINTER IS HERE AND WITH IT RETURNS GOLD COAST’S EPICUREAN-STYLE WINTER WINE FESTIVAL AT THE MULTI AWARD-WINNING SANCTUARY COVE, ACROSS THE WEEKEND OF JULY 28-29.
Food and wine lovers are invited to rug up to revel in wintry delights and enjoy all things wine as Sanctuary Cove’s Marine Village is transformed into an enchanting vineyard-inspired winter wonderland in celebration of the season’s finest drops.
Returning for its third year and proudly presented by Sanctuary Cove, the annual Winter Wine festival will see guests follow an indulgent wine trail throughout the Marine Village to taste a selection of full-bodied reds and crisp whites, while enjoying the top champagnes from across the globe, special wine appreciation events, fine dining and live music.
Map in hand, the trail will allow guests to meander throughout the Village, stopping in at its award-winning restaurants and fittingly-themed supplier pavilions to sample decadent drops. Showcasing labels from local, national and international regions, guests will be able to taste and buy from a wide range of wines on display using a coupon-based redemption system along the wine trail.
Head of marketing and events at Mulpha Sanctuary Cove, Johan Hasser says Winter Wine had evolved to become a permanent highlight of the destination’s seasonal events calendar, appealing to the tastes of many. “Whether you are a wine lover or a sommelier, the festival offers a charming vineyard-inspired setting to escape the cooler weather and enjoy some of the best wines from all over the world without having to leave the coast,” Johan says.
“Guests can journey through the village sampling drops from the extensive list of Australian and international winemakers on show, while enjoying informative and engaging wine-appreciation events as well as live entertainment across the weekend.”
Johan says there are prominent personalities from the wine industry travelling from all over Australia to attend Winter Wine. The festival runs from 11am-6pm both days. Entry is free, however, there are also ticketed events – check out the full event program online.
