WE ASKED SOME OF OUR LOCALS WHAT THEIR FAVE GOLD COAST CASUAL DINING LOCATION IS AND WHAT’S THE BEST ITEM ON THE MENU?
DAVID BROOK – Ruby CEO
“That’s such a hard question to answer with so many amazing options from Coolangatta to Coomera, especially as the time of day makes such a difference to our choice. However, for my absolute favourite evening dining experience it has to be Etsu at Mermaid Beach – the amazing range of dishes, the deep fried haloumi is to die for, the ever-changing specials and the freshness of the sashimi (or is it the range of Japanese whiskies?!). This restaurant is truly an asset to the Gold Coast.”
JUSTINE KELLY – Producer, ABC Radio
“I’m all about picnics these days. I love Burleigh Headland with fish and chips from any of the fish and chip shops in Burleigh and a bottle of wine. Magic!”
MATT BEVILACQUA – Ironman
“Alfred’s for a burrito and a beer if I’m lucky, especially on a Thursday night. Almost makes it feel like a Friday!”
KATIE LOVEDAY – HOTA brand manager
“It’s hard to beat Harry’s Steak Bistro for a $25 steak and endless fries.”
ANDREW WHITING – Elk Espresso owner
“I rate Lucky Boa in Mermaid. Great food, cocktails and service. On the menu I’m loving slow roasted organic broccoli, sesame, miso, furakake.”
BRIELLE COOPER – Ironwoman
“Poke Poke would have to be my favourite casual dining location. It’s just down the road from my house and the food is always fresh and delicious I love the Feelin Clucky or Squidilicous.”
