Must-taste menu items include their soup du jour, crispy potato hash and freshly baked goods, but it’s their hot chocolate that’s really worth travelling for. Topped with a toasted marshmallow and vanilla gelato, it will put your morning coffee to shame.
Birchgrove Nursery
OK, OK, we know we are directing you to a nursery up a mountain right now but, trust us, it’ll be worth the drive for morning tea this winter. Birchgrove Nursery is a quaint little spot at 38 Alpine Tce, Mount Tamborine. Once you’ve dragged yourself away from the fragrant roses and other floral wonders that you have to walk through to find the café, there can be a giant scone and a steaming pot of tea awaiting you right beside a wood-burning fireplace. Doesn’t that sound like bliss?
BSKT Cafe
The range of hot drinks on offer at BSKT is second only to their location. This place is just steps from Nobby Beach, making it the perfect place to stop in and grab a warming hot cuppa on your weekend walk (or mid-week surf check). While their coffees never miss, you may want to step outside your comfort zone with something a little fancy. How does a red velvet latte sound? Or a butterfly chai latte? They’ve got it all, and more, at BSKT.
Third Base
This Palm Beach favourite has been slinging tasty coffees and putting the strawberries on top of their famous acai bowls since 2016. But when winter rolls around, it’s their hot chocolates we find ourselves craving. Their Biscoff hot chocolate is a must-try, featuring whipped cream and Biscoff biscuit dusting. Unbeatable.
