‘Working from home’ doesn’t always have to mean working from home. Pack up your laptop and take your work to a café – you might be surprised by how much it maximises your productivity (even if it’s just the extra caffeine). Here are the best cafes to work from on the Gold Coast.

Black Dingo, Coolangatta
It may be one of the new kids on the block, but Black Dingo has cemented its place among the Gold Coast’s best cafes. For one, just look at that view! It definitely beats your home office. They also serve up a full menu of cafe classics, from big breakfasts to bagels, smoothies to pastries. All you need to bring is your laptop.

No Name Lane, Broadbeach
A slice of solitude in the hustle and bustle of Broadbeach, No Name Lane is certainly worth knowing about. Though they’re typically crowded on a weekend (as all of Broadbeach is) you can often find a quiet-ish table there during the week. We find the background noise helps us focus on the task at hand, and their menu of meals (both big and small) keeps us fueled.

Stable Coffee Kitchen, Tugun
We’ll look for any excuse to pay a visit to Cornerstone Stores, but sitting amongst the hanging vines and chic brick architecture while we smash out some emails feels like a particularly good one. On any given weekday, you can count on Stable to provide a soothing backing track of fingers on keyboards, quiet conversations over coffee and the occasional giggle from playing kids on the grass nearby. 10/10 recommend.

Sisterhood Café, Palm Beach
Comfortable seats, a quiet atmosphere and a cabinet of treats to keep you going all morning long? They’re just some of the reasons Sisterhood is one of the best cafes to work from on the Gold Coast. There’s also a lot to be said for working by a busy road – it’s a constant yet totally unengaging distraction when your eyes start to wander. The only downside: they don’t have readily available power points, so just make sure you come fully charged.

Paddock, Burleigh
Everyone and their dogs go to Paddock on the weekend (literally – almost every table has a snoozing dog underneath it) but have you ever gone during the week? It’s a totally different vibe. Still busy, sure, but nothing like the mile-long queues you see on the weekend, meaning you get to enjoy the plant-filled courtyard and leafy canopy in peace and quiet.
