To be sure (to be sure), the Gold Coast couldn’t be further from Ireland – both literally and figuratively. But that doesn’t stop us from getting into the St Patrick’s Day spirit; there are plenty of Gold Coast St Patrick’s Day events on around town to help you celebrate.
The D’Arcy Arms, Surfers Paradise
From Friday March 17 to Sunday March 19, Surfers Paradise’s own slice of Dublin will come alive with Irish music and dancing. Don’t miss the St Patrick’s Day festival at one of the coast’s most iconic Irish venues.
Dublin Docks, Harbour Town
It goes without saying that the Dublin Docks would go hard for St Patrick’s Day, and go hard they will. Don’t miss live music from 1pm, Irish dancers, green beer, food specials and prizes for ‘Best Dressed’.
The German Club, Merrimac
Believe it or not, The German Club could be the place to be this St Patrick’s Day. They’ll be hosting musician Frank Duga plus other Irish performers on Saturday March 18 from 5.30pm until 10.30pm.
Finn McCool’s, Surfers Paradise
With live entertainment from The Gathering, Tales of Strangers, Limerick, The Gold Coast Pipe Band and Irish dancers – plus a live DJ until late – this is sure to be one Irish Hooley you won’t want to miss.

U2 fans, rejoice! The ultimate celebration of one of Ireland’s greatest exports will take place at the Coolangatta Hotel on Friday March 17, to coincide with St Patrick’s Day. The two-hour show will feature a group of fabulous musicians recreating their endless hits.

Den Devine, Broadbeach
Last but certainly not the least of the Gold Coast St Patrick’s Day events, Den Devine will host its own celebration from midday until midnight on Friday March 17 – complete with live music, beef and Guinness pot pies and free flowing beer (with cheap pints on offer from 4pm until 6pm).
