Whether you’re vegan, looking to reduce your meat intake or are simply keen to try something new, these Gold Coast vegan restaurants are worth checking out.
Goodness Gracias, Palm Beach
Come for the vegan Mexican food, stay for the good vibes and fun interiors. This hole in the wall is perfect for vegans and non-vegans alike, with classic fillings like beans and mushrooms and more adventurous options like plant-based prawns.
Greenhouse Canteen, Tallebudgera Valley
One of the most established and beloved vegan restaurants on the Gold Coast, Greenhouse’s popularity has seen their team expand to Brisbane and Columbus, USA. Don’t miss their ‘taco Tuesday with a twist’, when you can get two tacos for $10.
Tian Ran Vegetarian, Mermaid Beach
Vegans and vegetarians are used to choosing from one or two main meals at standard restaurants – not at Tian Ran. Their menu is both vegan and gluten-free, and it’s impressively big. If being vegan has you missing the authentic Thai restaurant experience, Tian Ran will satiate your hunger.
Kuan Yin, Southport
The sign of a good vegan restaurant? You need to keep asking the staff if they’re *absolutely* sure the food is vegan. Kuan Yin delivers on that front. Not only is their extensive menu authentically delicious (from spicy soups to fried rice and noodles) it’s also totally meat-free.
Doko Demo V, Burleigh Waters
When you’re hungry for vegan food, but you’re not exactly sure what kind, head to Doko Demo V. This cafe/restaurant is open from breakfast through to dinner on select days, and their menu covers everything from burgers and pizzas to friend rice and pasta. And it’s all cruelty-free.
Izakaya Midori, Reedy Creek
Last but certainly not least, Izakaya Midori. Being set back from the coastline at Reedy Creek you may not stumble upon this vegan gem easily, but believe us when we tell you that it’s well worth the drive. Some of the best Japanese food (vegan or otherwise) we’ve had on the coast.
