There’s no better way to celebrate a new season than with a party. But you don’t need to be up dancing the night away to have a great time. This autumn, we’re all about brunch – here are our favourite autumn brunch ideas.
The food
Not keen on cooking? No problem. The Gold Coast is home to some seriously impressive caterers who can dish up just about anything. Of course, enlisting the help of a caterer is going to be more expensive than cooking yourself – but given the fact that they deliver chef-quality food and handle the clean up, it could be worth it. Some of our favourites include Joy and Joy (who also offer boxed and frozen food options for convenience) and In Season Catering and Events.
If you’re going it alone, why not visit your nearest farmers market to find fresh local produce?
Then, try one of these recipes from Gold Coast recipe makers…
- Burrata with charred spring onions, zucchini and salsa verde from Three Blue Ducks | Make it here
- Homemade baked beans from Amanda Ducks | Make it here
- Almond berry scone cake from Well Nourished | Make it here
As for drinks (if you’re serving them) make life easier and opt for a pre-mixed cocktail. Mr Consistent is the obvious choice – they’re a Gold Coast born brand and have bottled just about everything classic cocktail. All you need to do is add the alcohol.
For an even easier option, we’re loving Versa Cocktails (and you will too, if you’re a negroni fan). They may only have one offering, but they’ve perfected it. We recommend pre-making a jug before your guests arrive – all you need to do is pour it over ice and garnish with orange slices, since it comes with the alcohol included. Genius.
