If you’ve ever driven through Miami along the Gold Coast Highway and spotted a gaggle of girls spilling out of a studio in matching sets and grippy socks, you already know House of Motion. But did you know that they’re getting ready to expand their much-loved offering to Palm Beach?

To find out why House of Motion chose Palm Beach as their second home – and what you’re going to love about it – read our chat with Karen below…
Congratulations on your second studio! What was it about Palm Beach that made you decide to expand there?
We’d been searching for the perfect location for our sister studio and wanted somewhere close enough that we could remain deeply involved in both communities, without being so close that it took away from our Miami location.
We noticed that many members of our community were moving further south, and with increasing traffic, roadworks and parking challenges, Miami was becoming just that little bit too far for those further south. Palm Beach is experiencing so much growth, with new developments bringing more residents to the area, so we saw a wonderful opportunity to become part of the community early and create something locals could enjoy.
Being close to the beach was also a huge green flag for us. Community events are such an important part of House of Motion, and the location allows us to bring the same coastal energy and community-focused experiences our Miami members love to Palm Beach, while supporting and collaborating with other local businesses.
How long had you been planning to open a second location, and what made you pull the trigger?
Although House of Motion has only been open for just over a year, expansion has always been part of our long-term vision. We had been actively looking for a few months, but finding a space that felt right proved challenging here on the Goldy.
We had actually decided to pause the search when, the very next day, this site popped up. It ticked every box: a beautiful shopfront, directly opposite the beach, a similar size to our Miami studio and right in the heart of the Palm Beach community, with easy access from Tallebudgera, Tugun and Currumbin. It felt like divine timing!
Palm Beach is seeing a ton of change at the moment, with many beloved businesses closing or moving away. Why do you think it’s important to invest in this part of the Gold Coast?
Palm Beach is evolving quickly, with significant residential development bringing more people into the area. We’re confident it will continue to become one of the Gold Coast’s most vibrant communities over the coming years.
For us, it was important to establish our roots now and grow alongside the community. We want to contribute something positive to the area… a welcoming space where locals can move, connect and feel part of something.
What will House of Motion offer to Palmy locals? Why will they be excited?
House of Motion offers a unique style of mat Pilates, combining traditional Pilates principles with strength, cardio and infrared heat to create an effective, full-body workout. Our classes are designed to feel a little stronger and more challenging, while still prioritising the mind-body connection and nervous system regulation.
The variety of our classes and the structure of our timetable allow members to create a balanced, sustainable training routine without needing to visit multiple studios. Everything they need is available under one roof.
Beyond the training, community is at the heart of everything we do. Since opening in Miami, we’ve built a strong and engaged community through large-scale events, seasonal challenges, social experiences, brand collaborations and exciting giveaways. It’s something we regularly receive positive feedback about and a big part of what makes House of Motion different.
You’re not simply coming in for a workout, you’re making friends, having fun and enjoying access to some of our favourite wellness brands and experiences.
How will Palm Beach be similar to your Miami location? How will it be different?
One of the benefits of being independently owned is having the freedom to give each studio its own creative identity. While Palm Beach will retain the signature House of Motion atmosphere – dimmed lighting, our signature scent and beautiful, elevated interiors – we want every location to feel unique to its community rather than like a copy-and-paste concept.
Palm Beach will feature a beautiful reception area where members can relax and connect after class, along with its own unique equipment displays, signage and design details. With a little more reception space, we’re also planning to stock some of our favourite activewear brands and wellness accessories for members to browse and shop.
The overall member experience will remain consistent with Miami. Palmy members can expect collaborations with leading wellness brands, community events, incredible giveaways, seasonal challenges and classes that are an absolute vibe.
Some familiar members of our Miami team will also teach at Palm Beach, alongside some exciting new fresh faces!
What are some of the local businesses you’re excited to have as your new neighbours?
We’re already preparing a huge giveaway featuring some exciting local businesses, including Ninety Four Café, House of Beauty, That Face Place, The Honey and The Hair.
We were also very excited to see Franc Jrs Pizza recently move in nearby – their pizza is unmatched, IMO. Pilates and pizza event, anyone?
