Want to seize the day, every day? Looking for something to get you out of bed when you’re doing shift work or working from home? We’ve got just the thing. Give one of these weekday morning activities a try.
Join a run club
Whether you’re a keen runner or total novice, there’s a running club for everyone here on the Gold Coast. Many of them meet up early to pound the pavement, and they’re always willing to welcome newcomers. Check out some of our favourite run clubs on the Gold Coast right here.
Bend and stretch on the beach
Beach yoga has to be one of the best ways to start the day. There’s just something about stretching out (and zoning out) while the rising sun beats down on you – it’s simply the best. We’re big fans of @yam.withmaggie, but you can also find many beach yoga classes on the Gold Coast’s Active and Healthy program.
Or try outdoor Pilates
Much like beach yoga, outdoor Pilates offers all the fun of a traditional studio session, with the added bonus of fresh air and early morning sunshine. There’s no better way to start the day! You can also find many outdoor Pilates classes on the City’s Active and Healthy program. They’re best enjoyed followed by a post-class coffee.
Take a dip
Have you heard of Cold Nips? Every Wednesday, this group gathers at a beach of their choosing to connect, drink coffee and – most importantly – swim in the ocean. So popular is this concept that there are even other groups on the Gold Coast just like it. Tidal Talks, for example, encourages locals to come together and swim, dip and smile.
Or take it a bit further
Not content with a simple dip? Make it a proper swimming session with one of the many open water swimming groups on the Gold Coast. These guys make the most of our abundant beaches to get in a few ‘laps’, whether it’s at Kurrawa (Broadbeach) or the calm waters of Tally Creek.
Looking for a way to make the most of your weeknights? We’ve got the guide for that, too.
