COOLANGATTA
Scout’s hit-list of Coolangatta’s finest for coffee, shopping, dining and playing and boy, did they deliver! It seems Cooly is a Gold Coast hot-spot with an ocean of choice. Check it out for yourself…
UNWIND
Grab your beach gear and relax at one of the best Gold Coast beaches Rainbow Bay. Once you have had your fill of sunshine, head up to the surf club for sublime views and an ice cold bevy!
COFFEE & A BITE TO EAT
Caffeine addicts are more than catered for here. All you need to do is choose your experience and your favourite brew. Cafe D-Bar is a reader fave, along with Bellakai (opposite Coolangatta beach) and That Blue House is better than Mum’s house for breaky!
The Aztec Coolangatta does mouth-watering Mexican, perfect for a family night out (or hit up the taco and tequila bar if you manage to offload the kids!). Top Noodle is a reader fave for quality affordable Japanese style cuisine at The Strand and follow it up with a scoop (or three!) at Messina Gelato which is ah-mazing. For nightlife, live entertainment is often a big drawcard at the Coolangatta Hotel or for relaxing poolside with DJs and fellow groovers at Hotel Komune.
SHOP
Coolangatta’s The Strand shopping centre is a great destination with new boutiques and pop-up shops now open and injecting, even more, life into this area. It also offers a healthy assortment of dining options making it a true destination shopping precinct. Plus for all you market lovers, beachfront markets on our most weekends.
PLAY
Cooly is a kid-friendly haven, from the beach to the playgrounds along the foreshore to the annual events (the dates are already set for next year’s Cooly Rocks On – mark your calendars for 6 to 10 June) and the annual Quiksilver Pro rocks the shores of Snapper Rocks (14-25 March) And check out Coolangatta Gold (7-8 October) – the most challenging endurance race in Australia. Timezone is now open at The Strand so hours of indoor fun and games for the kids (and adults!).
