Sobah Beverages, Burleigh Heads
Sobah was established by husband-wife duo Clinton and Lozen Schultz in 2017 – making it Australia’s first non-alcoholic craft beer company. Another claim to fame? It’s also proudly Aboriginal owned and led. Dr Clinton Schultz, who is a Gamilaroi man and psychologist, says Sobah functions from the philosophies of Gamilaraay Lore ‘dhiriya Gamil’. These include: acting from a position of respecting people, place and the environment; understanding and working towards fulfilling responsibilities to that we are connected to; and engaging in positive reciprocity. Clovendoe, Burleigh Heads
Founder and master distiller Catie Fry spearheads Australia’s first female owned and operated distilling company, Clovendoe. After co-founding award-winning rum and gin distillery Capricorn Distilling Co. in 2016, Catie began to discover her true passion – crafting premium, botanic based spirits. But she knew she wanted to offer a more inclusive range, which is how she and the Clovendoe team because the trailblazers of the low and no-alcohol movement they are today.
Bird Dog, Tamborine Mountain
The loyal companion to Witches Falls Winery (also in Tamborine Mountain), Bird Dog Wines offers a zero-alcohol alternative for wine lovers looking to skip the hangover. Inspired by Ralph, the pet schnauzer of Witches Falls owner and chief wine maker Jon Heslop, the Bird Dog range shares some of his best qualities: good pedigree, confidence, a loveable nature and very entertaining.
