We know, we know – florals for spring aren’t exactly groundbreaking. But the Gold Coast and its surrounds are in full bloom, which makes now the perfect time to picnic among the flowers or make the detour to a lavender farm. Here are our favourite places to see flowers on and around the Gold Coast.
Elderflower Farm, Kent’s Lagoon
Nestled in the Gold Coast hinterland – Kent’s Lagoon, to be precise – is Elderflower Farm, a place as beautiful as its name suggests. As a working flower farm, you can frolic among the fields and take home some blooms with you as a souvenir.
Farm & Co, Cudgen
If you’ve never come across a photo of people posing happily in the sunflowers at Farm & Co, you mustn’t spend much time on Instagram (we’re honestly jealous). It really is the photo opportunity of choice for anyone road tripping through Northern New South Wales. You need to pay to access the sunflower field, but you’ll also be able to enjoy the rest of the farm – so it’s totally worth it.
Gold Coast Botanic Gardens
We’ve recommended the Gold Coast Botanic Gardens many a time, but that’s because this place ticks so. Many. Boxes. It’s the perfect place to get a flower fix, from the rose garden to the butterfly garden, as well as beautiful native plants to see as you do the rounds.
Kooroomba Lavender Farm
Located at Mount Alford in the Scenic Rim, Kooroomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm is as scenic as its name suggests. Though the lavender is in full bloom through winter, it’s still worth a visit year-round – if not for the blooms, then for the cellar door.
