Where to buy records on the Gold Coast
Everything old is new again – haven’t you heard? Film cameras are a must-have, flip phones are replacing iPhones on nights out and record players are becoming permanent fixtures in living rooms once again (though the die-hards will tell you, they never left). Keen to jump on board? Here’s where to buy records on the Gold Coast…

Mojave Market, Burleigh Heads
Taking place monthly on Saturdays (check their Insta’ for upcoming dates), Mo’s newest market offering, Mojave Markets, invites you to the coolest neighbourhood gathering ever. Expect pre-loved and vintage clothes, handmade goods, delicious food and drinks, and second-hand vinyl for you to peruse. Try not to buy something – we dare you.

Carrara Markets, Carrara
Every Sunday, from 7am to 10am, the carpark of Australia’s largest market (yes, you read that right) is overrun with car boot sellers slinging bargains. Expect clothes, homewares, bric-a-brac and more – vinyl records included. Sundays don’t work? They’ve also got ‘Retro Vinyl Records’ permanently set up in the marketplace, which is well worth checking out.

Beatniks Records, Broadbeach
We can’t talk about the Gold Coast vinyl scene without mentioning Beatniks. This independent music store is situated in the heart of Broadbeach, and is jam-packed with new, pre-owned, rare and collectable records. There’s also music memorabilia and audio equipment for you to pore over. They’ll even buy your unwanted vinyls!

Butter Beats, Southport
They’re self-described as Queensland’s home of rare and collectable records, and after visiting their Southport location, we’re sure you’ll agree with them. Their particular specialty? Rare Aussie records, from Slim Dusty to The Missing Link. Stop by their store (or check out their Brisbane location, if you’re feeling adventurous!) to see for yourself.

Badlands Vinyl, Tweed Heads
Just over the border between Queensland and New South Wales lies ‘the badlands’ – a place for you to find the latest and greatest vinyls. This place has everything… or should we say, everyone? From new goodness like Phoebe Bridgers, Dope Lemon and SZA to classics like Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac, you’ll find it all in the Badlands.
