What to bring to the beach, according to the experts*
*That’s us. As Gold Coast locals, we’re proficient in the art of the beach day. We know exactly what to pack, what not to pack and what to invest in to ensure beach fun for years to come (a good beach chair – yes. An expensive bag – absolutely not). Here’s what to bring to the beach…

Sunscreen: Aussies do it best, so we always opt for Ultra Violette. For an SPF lip balm (you would have forgotten that, wouldn’t you?) we love We Are Feel Good Inc.
Bag: A mesh bag won’t trap sand or let your belongings loose all over the beach. This lace version from OHTI ticks our boxes.
Towel: We love the ones from Business & Pleasure Co. – big, fluffy and so soft.
Hat: We’re firm believers that you don’t have to sacrifice style for sun safety. Currumbin brand Will + Bear evidently agree.
A cover up: There’s always a Soleil Soleil pareo in our beach bag. Perfect for shading our skin for the sun, then turning into a skirt when we head from the beach to the bar.
A good book: We just recently shared our current summer reads.
Sunglasses: Valley Eyewear, always.
Water bottle: Tugun’s own Prae Wellness has carved out a stylish niche in the (somewhat saturated) drink bottle market.
Beach chair: No longer do we need to lug a cumbersome fold-up chair down to the sand – the Sunwedge fits in a handy carry bag and is super comfy.
Sunshade: We’re steering clear of the heated debate around a *certain* cabana brand. We’ll take the simplicity of a classic beach tent.
Shoes: Thongs are so back – only we’re older now, and we need the arch support. We’re big Archies fans.
