Nobby Beach
Smack bang in the centre of the Goldie, Nobby Beach is a small suburb with a big personality. Nestled between Mermaid and Miami, Nobby (or “Nobbys,” or “Nobby’s” depending on which street sign you read) shouldn’t be overlooked – it’s home to delicious coffee, unbeatable food and pumping nightlife, all scattered along a pristine stretch of Gold Coast beach.
Eat
An oldie but a goldie, BSKT boasts more than its brilliant beachside location – it also has an impressive organic and gluten-free menu, and fresh juices to boot. Keep an eye on their event calendar, because their upstairs function space plays host to everything from yoga to community cooking classes. The Oxley 1823, on the other hand, is a more recent addition to Nobby’s main block. A boutique retail, dining and lifestyle village, this space has everything – a quality market, butcher, cafe and even gelato. It’s a true one-stop shop. Then, for an Instagram-worthy smoothie or a relaxed bite in their sunny courtyard, head to Nobby’s Shack.
Psst: BabyMama is sticking around for summer, and we’re not mad about it! If you haven’t checked it out yet, now’s your chance. Expect a tight edit of Mamasan favourites alongside fresh new dishes from Executive Chef Sebastian Tan, who weaves his own flavour into the menu.
Drink
Nighttime is the right time at Nobby. The Cambus Wallace has fast established a loyal following, and for good reason – where else can you drink in a bar themed like an 1800s shipwreck? Beer lovers will love Bine Bar & Dining. It’s Australia’s first craft beer bar, with a menu of more than 80 to choose from. Nextdoor, The Arc at Nobby’s has a menu made for sharing and such a wide assortment of drinks you’ll be spoiled for choice. If a margarita in your hand tops your weekend wishlist, head to the patio at Mexicali for a cocktail and some of the best Mexican on the Gold Coast.
Unwind
One of the best things to do in Nobby? Hit the water – this beautiful stretch of sand is perfect for families. The Nobby’s Surf Life Saving Club has been patrolling this strip since 1922, so support them by enjoying a meal or a cold beverage. For a spot of retail therapy, head to About a Girl for a carefully curated selection of clothing, accessories and shoes, brought to you by two lifelong friends inspired by their coastal lifestyle.
