KEEP A COOL HEAD WHEN IT COMES TO STAYING SAFE IN THE SUMMER SUN. HERE’S HOW…

THIS JANUARY, YOUR HEAD WILL SPIN AND YOUR MIND WILL RUN IN CIRCLES WHEN THE RADICAL URBAN CIRCUS, 360 ALLSTARS, COME TO TOWN. PREPARE FOR DIZZYING STUNTS AND A WHIRLWIND OF TALENT SPANNING ALL FORMS OF ROTATION, ONLY AT THE GOLD COAST’S HOME OF THE ARTS.
Are you ready for a spin out? The phenomenal physical performance that is 360 ALLSTARS is coming to HOTA for ‘Kids Take Over’ from January 16 to 19, and it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before.
Exploring all forms of rotation, the show promises mind-blowing talent that pushes the limits, all set to a soundtrack by the award-winning Roman MC and renowned musical producer and show director, Gene Peterson.
“We definitely didn’t hold back!” says Gene. “The show has an amazing lighting design, a killer live soundtrack and stunning video projections displayed across three video screens. I wanted every single ingredient of the show to be spectacular in its own right.”
While dreaming up 360 ALLSTARS, Gene had just one vision – he was focused on making something awesome. By connecting the street with the elite, he gathered an international cast complete with a world champion BMX Flatlander – an artistic form of biking on smooth, flat surfaces – two world champion break-dancers, an internationally acclaimed basketball freestyler, and a breathtaking roue cyr artist (don’t ask, just Google). How much more awesome could he fit on one stage?
“Once you’re thinking without limitations, it’s easy to dream big,” says Gene. “We ended up head-hunting artists from the UK, Europe, Asia, America, Australia and New Zealand. It probably wasn’t the most cost-effective choice, but it was the decision to remove these logistical and financial parametres and put the art first that made the show successful.”
And successful it has been. Having delivered explosive shows all over the world – from the USA to Germany, Canada to China – 360 ALLSTARS is now gearing up to perform here on the Gold Coast. And we simply cannot wait.

BRASH, BALLSY AND ‘BLOOD’-Y BRILLIANT – THERE’S SIMPLY NO OTHER WAY TO DESCRIBE DRACULA’S LATEST PRODUCTION.
No one does a night out like Dracula’s. From the moment you board the Ghost Train right through to the final bow, you’re taken on an after-worldly adventure where anything can happen. ‘Nine Pints’, the brand-new show by the vampiric theatre troupe, is no different.
Less vaudeville and more ‘Vegas underworld’, Nine Pints delivers a dynamic display of aerial artistry, saucy entertainment and smutty – albeit incredibly witty – comedy. With a dash of brashness, a pinch of cheekiness and a generous serving of #WTF make for one unforgettable night.
The jokes are ballsy (almost literally – one act includes a giant penis) and the performances perfectly executed. Audiences even witness the return of the traditional puppetry that Dracula’s founding family, the Newmans, are known for. Nine Pints ticks all boxes.
Combining old favourites (food and cocktails, and the ghost train reel that never fails to bring the audience together in embarrassment) and new additions – a bloody, provocative film clip kicks off the show, which features plenty of fresh talent – Nine Pints will leave your heart beating wildly and your face drained of blood… in the best way possible.
Nine Pints in review
Here’s what our scout reviewer had to say after she watched the show:
“Year after year, Dracula’s never fails to make my jaw drop and my belly ache with laughter. Cheeky and wild, with great tunes, dances and aerial acts, the talent and humour – particularly from ‘El-Mo’ – will rock your socks off. Keep an eye out for twins Aorta and Jugular when their dynamic aerial acts bring a new spin to the stage show and be sure to stock up on cocktails to get in the mood for another legendary show.”

THE JEWEL IN SURFERS PARADISE’S CROWN HAS FINALLY FLUNG OPEN ITS DOORS, USHERING IN A NEW STANDARD FOR HOLIDAY ACCOMMODATION HERE ON THE COAST. THE RUBY COLLECTION HAS ARRIVED – AND, BOY, ISN’T SHE SPARKLING.
After 18 long months of construction, we finally have our first taste of the Ruby Collection in the form of the 30-floor, 243 room Ruby Apartments. The first of four towers that will make up the prestigious new address, the Ruby Apartments is quickly filling up with guests, all excited to experience the Ruby difference.
“It’s been a long ride to get to this point, but the finished product is looking amazing,” says resort CEO David Brook. “There is still a small amount of
work being completed in some of the common areas, but our priority is to make sure that our first guests enjoy a five-star Ruby experience.”
Combining appeal for all ages with five-star facilities, the Ruby Apartments deliver sophisticated indulgence and cutting-edge features that aren’t often synonymous with family-friendly accommodation.
“With an emphasis on space and design, each apartment in The Ruby Apartments exudes a luxurious feel that complements our Gold Coast surrounds,” says David. “The use of teal and earthy tones brings together the ocean and hinterland and our bedspreads form a ripple like the ocean, and the rose gold accents throughout each apartment are modern yet timeless touches and drawn from the inspiration of our namesake Ruby.”
The apartments and villas come equipped with ocean or hinterland views – some with magnificent views of both – and all have a full kitchen, lounge and dining areas, private en-suite with shower, and those handy little extras such as USB charging points, Bluetooth speakers, complimentary Wi-Fi and easy access to Ruby’s own digital concierge.
At Ruby, customer service staff become Ruby Ambassadors. In their multi-faceted roles, Ruby Ambassadors get to know their guests and their needs to deliver a more personalised service – from check-in to check-out, your Ruby Ambassadors will assist with your every need.
Add to that the dining options, on-site water parks, kids activities, gym, and so much more, you’ll need more than one night to truly discover why the Ruby motto – ‘we don’t do ordinary’ – fits so perfectly.
