Hello, beautiful summer! I’m ready to embrace the sunshine, iced coffees (okay, margaritas too), beach walks, sun-kissed hair, more freckles, adding to my hat fetish and rocking flip flops with most outfits this season. The Gold Coast shines at this time of year and buzzes with holidaymakers and locals alike embracing our white sandy beaches and cooling off in our big blue sea. Don’t miss out on turning your head west, though, and looking beyond the hills where you’ll find rock pools and waterfalls to explore and cool yourself off on a hot summer day (just check our website for some great tips!). Among other local landmarks, explore Mermaid Beach and Surfers Paradise in our pages as we highlight beachfront bliss in our ‘Suburb Spotlights’. I always dig reading the Local Loves and getting my own tips from our local residents – where to eat, enjoy a cocktail or hang with the family. Each person writes their own tale covering most corners of our coast but one thing they have in common is a love for this city.

We’re proud as punch to announce that our little magazine was a finalist for the recent Destination Gold Coast Content Award! We were up for the ‘newbie’ award, which recognises rising storytellers who have contributed to the promotion of the Gold Coast area – and that, we do.
